Five reasons and solutions to the insufficient press hardness of the press
It is a very distressing thing that the tablet pressed is not hard enough during the operation of the tablet press. We analyze the causes and solutions of the hard pressing of the tablet press.
(1) Cause: the amount of adhesive or lubricant is small or inappropriate, which makes the particle distribution uneven, the coarse particles and fine particles are layered, even when the pressure is increased, it can not be overcome.
Solution: suitable adhesive or increase dosage, improvement of granulation process, mixing of homogeneous particles and other methods can be selected.
(2) Reason: the fineness of grinding is not enough, the content of fiber rich, elastic particles or oil is more and the mixture is uneven.
Solution: it can crush the particles to a smaller size, select adhesive with strong viscosity, increase the pressure of tablet press, absorbent of oil-filled drugs and fully mix them.
(3) Causes: the water content is not moderate, too little water or the elasticity of dry particles is large. Because the drugs containing crystalline water lose more crystalline water in the drying of particles, it becomes brittle and easy to crack. But too much makes the hardness smaller.
Solution: the water content should be controlled according to different varieties in the granulation process. If the particles are too dry, a proper amount of dilute ethanol (50% - 60%) can be injected. After mixing, the tablet press is used for pressing.
(4) Reason: the physical properties of the pressed particles are determined by brittleness, plasticity, elasticity and hardness, such as the elastic material becomes smaller when it is compressed, and the tablet is cracked due to elastic expansion after decompression.
Solution: different particles, press press press need different pressure and other auxiliary materials to control.
(5) Reason: the mechanical factors of the press. If the punch length is not uniform, or the pressure adjustment is not suitable, the speed of the press is too fast or the particles in the hopper are often less.
